Subluxation Station
At Healing Path of Rockford, we utilize an advanced Chiropractic technology that scans your spine and delivers a computerized image of the stress and tension to your nervous system. Two different technologies give us (and you) an objective assessment:
sEMG Scan
The sEMG scan will measure electrical activity of the paraspinal muscles of the entire neck and back. The device effectively and scientifically measures the muscular response to spinal subluxation.
Infrared Thermography
The Infrared Thermography measures 400 skin temperature points on each side of the spine to check for differences. When nerve pressure occurs, it sets up a number of reflexes. One of these reflexes is increased pooling of blood in the capillaries (small blood vessels) of the skin. Since blood is very warm, this will result in warmer temperatures in this area of skin compared to others. The second reflex in thermography occurs in virtually all joints of your body. When you have an injury, inflammation (swelling) of the damaged joint occurs. As you have probably experienced, this inflamed area is hotter than the surrounding skin surfaces. This reflex occurs just the same in the joints of the spine. The device effectively and scientifically measures the heat response to spinal subluxation.
These are both completely safe, painless and non-invasive methods of evaluating spinal health for every age including pregnancy.
What to Expect
After gowning, we’ll have you sit still for a moment or two. Then, starting at the base of your skull, we’ll run two probes down your back. Think of these as miniature radio antennas listening for a distant station. That’s it. The computer does the rest!
At your report, you’ll get to see the computerized printout and learn what it means. Because your care is based on the condition of your nervous system, not how you feel, this technology is the focal point of our practice.
